Ormistons’ passenger rail service ceased in 1933. The goods service and the line itself were closed in the 1960s. The track now forms the Pencaitland Railway Walk, a nature trail and path running from Crossgatehall, near Cousland to West Saltoun.
Police
There was a police station in the village on Main Street; it is now a private house called ‘Auldnik’.
