Agriculture
Morham’s sole economic activity is agriculture. Oil-seed rape was introduced in 1985 and wheat and barley are grown. The growing of vining peas (for the frozen food market), and feeding peas was introduced in the early 1980s. Beans were also grown and the blue flowering green manure plant, Phacelia, was gradually being introduced. On many farms, a certain acreage was left as set-aside and some as game-crop. Potatoes were a disaster in 2000 with too much rain. Many fields were rented out to contractors who grew turnips, cabbages and sprouts.
